Pedestrian Critically Injured in Berkeley Crash at Telegraph and Derby
BERKELEY, CA (July 25, 2022) – A crash critically injured a pedestrian at Telegraph Avenue and Derby Street in Berkeley.
According to the KTVU News and Berkeleyside, the accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 4:50 p.m.
The incident happened when a woman in her 50s was walking across Telegraph Avenue at Derby Street in the city. At the same time, a van made a left turn onto Telegraph heading south from Derby.
Berkeley police said for an unknown reason, the vehicle then struck the female pedestrian in the intersection. She was hit in the south crosswalk.

Paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the victim down on the ground. She ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the wounded patient to the Highland Hospital for treatment. The reports did not disclose her name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the woman. Officers forced the area of Telegraph and Derby to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Berkeley pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
