At Least 1 Badly Hurt in Collision on Interstate 299 Friday
Blue Lake, CA (October 8, 2021) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic accident that occurred on Interstate 299, also known as Trinity Highway, Friday afternoon.
Initial records indicated a semi truck overturned while traveling on the highway in the city of Blue Lake. Officials believed the operator of the big rig pulling a trailer experienced problem with the brakes, leading to the crash.
Per CHP dispatch, the truck veered off the roadway and hit a large tree. When the tree fell down, it caused the big rig to flip.
Major Injury Truck Accident in Blue Lake, October 8
Emergency teams arrived at the location shortly after 2:52 p.m. First responders found at least one person with major injuries including serious wounds to their head. At this time, the identity of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole evening to investigate the precise cause of the truck accident in Blue Lake.
