At Least 1 Hurt in Collision Near Briarwood Road Friday
Bonita, CA (February 26, 2022) – A suspected hit-and-run crash occurred on State Route 54, also known as Bay Freeway, the California Highway Patrol group reported.
Our sources indicated a white Toyota vehicle collided with another car on the eastbound lanes of SR-54. The accident took place just east of Briarwood Road in Bonita.
Shortly after 1:06 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck. After the evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the crash. The name and age of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
The CHP log mentioned one motorist fled the scene before police arrived. Detectives continue to gather information to identify the hit-and-run suspect.
Investigators handling the case continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the traffic crash on State Route 54 in Bonita.
