Juvenile Hospitalized After Hit-and-Run Collision on South Birch Street

Santa Ana, CA (April 12, 2023) – An 11-year-old boy suffered injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred on South Birch Street, the NBC News reported.

Vehicle Hits Boy in Santa Ana

On March 29, Wednesday, the boy and his 12-year-old cousin were walking home from school. Preliminary investigation revealed the two juveniles run across the street as they approached the 700 block of South Birch Street. While in the traffic lanes, an oncoming sedan failed to slow down and struck at least one boy. The force from the impact flipped the victim through the air then landed on the ground.

Shortly after 1:36 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding paramedics rendered first aid to the injured child then transported him to a hospital for further treatment. No immediate information was available on the condition of the other pedestrian involved in the crash.

The article published online confirmed the driver of the sedan fled the scene. At this time, police continue to gather information to identify and locate the hit-and-run suspect.
