Boy Killed in Tehachapi Bicycle Crash on Tucker Road Near Conway Avenue
TEHACHAPI, CA (October 25, 2022) – A crash killed a boy on a bicycle along Tucker Road in Tehachapi.
According to the Kern Golden Empire and 23 ABC News, the tragic accident took place on Monday afternoon. Officers reported the collision shortly before 4 p.m.
Tehachapi police said the incident happened on October 24 when the boy was riding his bicycle southbound on the sidewalk. At the same time, a pickup truck was exiting a parking lot on Tucker Road.
Bicyclist Hit by Car
For an unknown reason, the car struck the child near Conway Avenue. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the bicyclist down on the ground.
He sustained major trauma as a result of the accident. Medical personnel the rushed the victim to a hospital, where he soon died.
Meanwhile, Tehachapi police added that driver of the pickup failed to see the boy and hit him. Officers forced a stretch of Tucker Road of to shut down for a time following the bicycle collision.
The cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 661-822-2222.
