Bicyclist Severely Injured in Boyle Heights Hit-and-Run on Olympic Boulevard
LOS ANGELES, CA (April 22, 2021) – A bicyclist was severely injured after a hit-and-run crash along Olympic Boulevard in the Boyle Heights neighborhood.
According to the KTLA News and My News LA, the tragic accident occurred last month on March 9. Officers reported the collision at about 6:04 p.m.
The incident began when a 30-year-old man was riding his bicycle on the north sidewalk of Olympic Boulevard in Boyle Heights.
At the same time, a white big rig was entering a commercial fueling station. Police said for an unknown reason, the driver of the semi-truck hit the cyclist.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene just east of Boyle Avenue. They found the rider left suffering from severe injuries as a result of the crash.
Medical personnel then rushed him to a hospital for treatment of multiple fractures and internal injuries. He stayed in the ICU for several days.
Officials did not disclose the name of the victim. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the big rig operator stopped briefly but soon fled the area.
Officers described the tractor-trailer as possibly a 2015 Freightliner Columbia 120. They forced Olympic Boulevard to close following the hit-and-run crash.
