1 Killed, 1 Badly Injured in Buttonwillow Crash on Old River Road Near Valpredo
BUTTONWILLOW, CA (November 10, 2021) – A car crash killed one person and badly injured on Old River Road in Buttonwillow.
According to the Bakersfield Now and Bakersfield Californian, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 6:10 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Buttonwillow on November 9. They crashed on Old River Road, north of Valpredo Avenue.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, just north of Maricopa Highway. They confirmed that one victim died as a result of the collision.
CHP added that another individual sustained moderate injuries due to the impact. Medical personnel took the patient to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Old River Road to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Buttonwillow crash is still under investigation.
