At Least 1 Killed in Traffic Collision on U.S. Route 50 Sunday
Cameron Park, CA (August 15, 2021) – A fatal car crash occurred on U.S. Route 50, also known as El Dorado Freeway, Sunday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle crashed in the eastbound side of El Dorado (50) Freeway. The car ended up rolling down the steep and rocky embankment along the freeway near Bass Lake Road onramp. At this time, the make and model of the automobile involved in the collision have not been revealed thus far.
Rescue teams arrived at the location shortly after 3:27 p.m.

The California Highway Patrol log later confirmed one person sadly died as a result of the incident. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event remained unclear. Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to investigate exactly how and why the horrible car crash in Cameron Park happened.
