Rider Killed in Collision Near Las Pulgas Road
Camp Pendleton, CA (August 18, 2022) – One person died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway Wednesday.
Auto vs. Motorcycle Accident on Interstate 5 in Camp Pendleton
According to FOX5 News, a man was riding a Suzuki GSX-R750 motorcycle heading south on the freeway. When the motorcyclist approached the area near Las Pulgas Road, he crashed into the back of a Ford F-250 pickup truck towing an empty horse trailer.
Earlier reports indicated the catastrophic incident took place at approximately 12:30 a.m.
When rescue teams arrived at the location, they found the motorcyclist lifeless. Responding paramedics performed CPR and life-saving measures to the victim, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities only identified the deceased as a 20-year-old man from Lakewood.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Ford appeared unharmed after the incident.
Investigators handling the case continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the fatal crash happened on the Interstate 5 Freeway in Camp Pendleton.
