Hit-and-run Suspect Sought by Police for Fatal Hit-and-Run in Vermont Square Neighborhood

 Carlos Deleon Fatal Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident Normandie Avenue, 42nd Street LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 1, 2021) – Carlos Deleon 53, of Los Angeles, died Wednesday night in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in the Vermont Square area of South Los Angeles.

Also, the suspect remains at large as police piece together evidence and review witness statements.

The deadly hit-and-run crash happened last night about 10:45 p.m. on March 31st, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Pedestrian Struck by Driver in Crosswalk on Normandie Avenue

The driver struck Carlos Deleon in a crosswalk near Normandie Avenue and 42nd Street, according to the LAPD’s South Traffic Division.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff Coroner identified the pedestrian as Carlos Deleon 53, of Los Angeles. Sadly, he died at the scene of the collision.

Meanwhile, detectives are checking for surveillance video in the area to identify the suspect’s vehicle.
