911 Dispatcher Killed in T-Bone Crash; DUI Suspect Arrested
SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (May 8, 2024) — Antoinette Finau, 37, who worked as a 911 dispatcher, died Sunday night in a T-bone crash with an alleged DUI driver at the San Leandro intersection of 14th Street and 150th Avenue.
The two-vehicle crash occurred at around 11:15 p.m. on May 5th, according to KTVU Fox 2 News.
An alleged drunk driver reportedly drove through a red light at the intersection and crashed broadside into her Honda Civic, according to the San Leandro Police Department.
The deadly crash occurred just a few blocks away from where Antoinette Finau worked as a 911 dispatcher at the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office dispatch center.
Sheriff’s deputies and paramedics responded to the scene and located the victim’s vehicle overturned in the roadway.
Anotoinette Finau was transported by ambulance to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, but she later died from her injuries.
Meanwhile, the alleged drunk driver identified as Lynette Davis, 32, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI, the report said.
Finally, there is a fund established to support Antoinette Finau’s family. She is survived by an 11-year-old daughter and her parents.
