
1 Injured in Carlsbad Crash on Interstate 5 Near Palomar Airport
CARLSBAD, CA (April 15, 2023) – One was hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 5 near Palomar Airport Road in Carlsbad.
According to an article published by the CBS 8 San Diego, the accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the wreck on April 15 at around 1:40 a.m.
The incident happened when six cars and a semi-truck collided for an unknown reason in Carlsbad. The vehicles crashed on the northbound Interstate 5 near the Palomar Airport Road exit.
Multiple Vehicles Collide
The California Highway Patrol described the cars as three sedans and two vans. A truck landed on top of another vehicle as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found one person hurt. Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the Interstate 5 to shut down near Palomar following the wreck.
The cause of the Carlsbad crash is still under investigation.
