1 Seriously Injured in Carmel-By-The-Sea Crash Near Carmel Valley and Del Mesa
CARMEL-BY-THE-SEA, CA (February 9, 2022) – A crash seriously injured at least one person at Carmel Valley Road and Del Mesa Carmel in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Wednesday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 5:21 p.m.
The incident happened when two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Carmel-by-the-Sea. They crashed near the intersection of Carmel Valley Road and Del Mesa Carmel.
2 Cars Collide
CHP described the cars as a dark gray Audi and a silver pickup truck. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Hacienda Carmel community.
Medical personnel found an elderly female occupant who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. They then took her to the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula for treatment.
The name of the wounded patient and her condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Carmel Valley and Del Mesa to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Carmel-by-the-Sea crash is still under investigation.
