2 Injured in Carmel Valley Crash on Del Mar Heights Road
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 16, 2023) – A car crash left two people on Del Mar Heights Road in the Carmel Valley community of San Diego.
According to the FOX 5 News and ABC 10 News, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck on March 15 shortly before 8 a.m.
The incident began when a BMW was going east in the left lane of Del Mar Heights Road in Carmel Valley. For an unknown reason, the car spun out of control and slid into the westbound lanes.
Police said the BMW then slammed into a Toyota Camry stopped at the limit line of the westbound turn lane. The BMW also struck a Toyota Corolla at the limit line in the left lane.
The impact pushed the Camry backwards into a Lexus SUV behind it. The vehicles collided near the intersection with Carmel Canyon Road.
Multiple Cars Collide
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found two drivers hurt. One of them, a 50-year-old woman driving the Corolla, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed her to a hospital for treatment. Medical personnel provided aid to the driver of the Camry, a 54-year-old woman, who complained of pain following the wreck.
The names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time were not disclosed. Meanwhile, motorists in the BMW and the Lexus ended up unharmed.
Police believed that the incident happened during wet conditions. Officers forced a stretch of Del Mar Heights Road to shut down after the incident.
