Bicyclist Injured in Carmichael Hit-and-Run Crash at Manzanita and Locust
CARMICHAEL, CA (February 9, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash injured a bicyclist at Manzanita Avenue and Locust Avenue in Carmichael.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place late Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision shortly before 10 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the bicycle rider for an unknown reason in Carmichael. The driver hit the cyclist at the intersection of Manzanita and Locust avenues.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Bel Air and Ace Hardware stores. They found the victim hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then treated the patient for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the incident. The name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to help the rider and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Manzanita and Locust avenues to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Carmichael hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
