Carolyn Rose and Billie Edwards Killed in Atwater Pedestrian Crash
ATWATER, CA (November 3, 2022) – Carolyn Rose and Billie Edwards were killed after a pedestrian crash in Atwater.
Police identified the two elderly people as victims of the fatal collision which took place on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened when a minivan struck Carolyn Sue Rose and Billie Edwards in Atwater. The vehicle then slammed into a power pole nearby.
Van Hits Victims and Power Pole
Police said the driver of the van was going west on Juniper Avenue, approaching Augusta Lane. For an unknown reason, the motorist left the road and soon hit the victims.
The Merced Sun Star and ABC 30 News wrote that the accident occurred on November 2 at about 9:20 a.m. Carolyn Rose, 76; and Billie Edwards, 73, died at the scene of the Atwater collision.
Family members set up a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses of the victims. Meanwhile, officers added that the driver stopped and stayed at the site following the incident.
Police forced Juniper Avenue to shut down for a time after the accident. The cause of the Atwater crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at at (209) 357-6384.
