Auto vs. Semi Truck Collision Near Padaro Lane Offramp Friday
Carpinteria, CA (March 18, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a fatal car crash that occurred on Highway 101 early Friday.
Officials said an accident involving a semi truck and a silver Nissan took place in the southbound side of the highway in Carpinteria. According to the CHP dispatch, the collision took place at about 2:16 a.m.
Responding emergency crews found one vehicle off the roadway, and another vehicle disabled near the rail road.

The CHP log mentioned one person suffered fatal injuries as a result of the incident. It remained unknown if the deceased was an occupant from the big rig, or from the Nissan. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Detectives stayed at the crash site the whole morning. They continue to work at this time to determine exactly how and why the deadly accident happened on Highway 101 in Carpinteria.
