1 Killed, 2 Hurt in Collision Near Templin Highway
Castaic, CA (June 25, 2022) – A deadly traffic accident occurred Saturday morning on the Interstate 5 Freeway, the Santa Clarita Valley News reported.
Our sources indicated a multi-vehicle collision took place in the area near Templin Highway north of Castaic. Officials said a Ford F-150 towing a trailer was traveling south on I-5 when it struck an object in the road. For this reason, a wheel detached from the trailer and struck another southbound car. Authorities added the detached wheel bounced over the center divider and landed onto the northbound side of the freeway.
Per article published online, the detached wheel hit a northbound Toyota Avalon. The force from the impact caused the Avalon to crash into a Honda Accord.
The violent incident took place at approximately 9:30 a.m.
Deadly Car Accident on Interstate 5 in Castaic
First responders found the driver of the Avalon lifeless. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed. Meanwhile, several other parties involved in the wreck sustained injuries in the collision. Medical personnel rendered aid to one passenger from the Avalon; and the driver of the Accord. Personal information on the victims have not been revealed thus far.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning. They continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadle collision on Interstate 5 in Castaic.
