1 Killed, Several Injured in Cathedral City Crash on Date Palm Drive
CATHEDRAL CITY, CA (September 4, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others on Date Palm Drive in Cathedral City.
According to The Desert Sun and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 8:30 a.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle was going north on Date Palm Drive, just south of Varner Road, in Cathedral City. For an unknown reason, it crossed over into the southbound lanes.
2 Cars Collide
Police said in the process, the car slammed head-on into another vehicle. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced the driver of the northbound vehicle dead at the scene.
The occupants of the second car sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Date Palm Drive to shut down for a time following the wreck.
