1 Killed in Collision on Southworth Road
Wallace, CA (April 17, 2023) – Police arrested 62-year-old Chad Katzakian following a deadly traffic accident that occurred on Southworth Road Sunday, April 9.
The Lodi News reported a 66-year-old man was riding a 2004 Harley-Davidson heading south on Southworth Road. When the motorcyclist approached the area near White Owl Drive, he veered onto the east shoulder of the highway in Wallace.
According to the article published online, Katzakian was on a 200 Harley-Davidson Road King traveling behind the first motorcyclist. Our sources indicated Katzakian followed the first biker into the field, and later crashed into them.
The force from the impact resulted in life-threatening injuries to the other person. Responding paramedics arrived shortly after 6 p.m. and sadly pronounced the victim dead. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
DUI Suspect Arrested After Deadly Accident in Wallace
Authorities added Katzakian sustained major injuries and was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Modesto for treatment. Preliminary investigation revealed Chad Katzakian was intoxicated at the time of the collision. Given that, police arrested the 62-year-old man on suspicion of DUI.
