Charissa Williams, 20, Killed in Los Banos Bicycle Crash on Henry Miller Avenue
LOS BANOS, CA (October 28, 2022) – Bicycle rider Charissa Williams was killed after a crash on Henry Miller Avenue in Los Banos.
The coroner’s office identified the 20-year-old Sonora woman as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Charissa Williams was riding a bicycle west on Henry Miller Avenue, east of Johnson Road, in Los Banos.
Bicyclist Hit by Car
A 2009 Nissan Maxima was traveling at about 55 mph in the same direction at the time. The California Highway Patrol said the Nissan then hit the rear of the bike.
The rider ended up thrown off the bicycle and landed on the hood of the car as a result of the collision. In the process, she hit the windshield of the Maxima.
The bicyclist soon died at the scene. The Merced Sun Star and Los Banos Enterprise wrote that the accident occurred on October 26 at about 7:19 p.m.
The driver of the car, 42-year-old Los Banos resident Maria Hinojosa, and her 46-year-old male passenger did not sustain any injury. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
