3 Injured in Chico Head-On Crash on Cohasset Road Near Airport
CHICO, CA (September 8, 2021) – Several were injured after a head-on crash on Cohasset Road near the airport in Chico.
According to an article published by the KRCRTV News, the accident took place on Wednesday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8 a.m.
The incident began when a white Subaru was going south on Cohasset Road in Chico. At the same time, a blue Nissan Pathfinder was traveling north.
Police said due to steering problems, the Subaru crossed over the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic. The car then slammed head-on into the Nissan, just south of the Chico Airport.
2 Cars Collide
The Pathfinder came to a stop in a ditch nearby. The 61-year-old Hamilton City woman driving the Nissan sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
The victim ended up with a broken bone on her lower leg and left arm, which required surgery. Paramedics rushed her to the Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
Medical personnel treated the driver of the Subaru and a passenger at the site for their minor injuries. Meanwhile, police forced a stretch of Cohasset Road to shut down for an hour following the wreck.
Officials did not disclose the names of all the wounded parties and their condition at this time. The Chico car crash is still under investigation.
