Chou Vang, 72, Killed in Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash at Belmont and Cedar Avenues
FRESNO, CA (February 8, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed Chou Vang at Belmont and Cedar avenues in Fresno.
Your Central Valley identified the 72-year-old Fresno man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Chou Vang was riding a car with a woman north on Belmont Avenue, approaching Cedar Avenue, in Fresno. At the same time, a pickup truck was headed east.
The pickup ran a red light in the intersection and then slammed into the other vehicle. Police said the accident occurred on February 7 shortly before 11 a.m.
Driver Runs Red Light, Hits Another Car
Chou Vang died at the of the crash. The woman traveling with him ended up suffering from life-threatening injuries ad a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed her to the hospital and listed her in critical condition. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 29-year-old man driving the truck abandoned his car and fled on foot. They soon located and arrested him.
The hit-and-run crash that fatally injured Chou Vang is still under investigation.
