Man Hospitalized After Crash Near Carpenter Road
Modesto, CA (October 16, 2022) – Christian Martinez, a 22-year-old man, suffered injuries following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Highway 99.
The Modesto Bee News reported a pickup truck hit a person in the southbound side of the highway. Officials said the collision took place north of the Carpenter Road/Briggsmore Avenue overpass.

Shortly after 9:30 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site. First responders found the male pedestrian lying on the shoulder of the highway. Medical personnel rendered first aid to the victim, then transported him to a local hospital for further treatment. Authorities later identified the patient as Christian Martinez, of Modesto.
The article published online mentioned the driver, 29-year-old Samuel Melo, stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation process. Detectives continue to work at this time to determine liability in the pedestrian accident that happened on Highway 99 in Modesto.
