Vehicle Strikes, Kills Man Near Main Street
Chula Vista, CA (March 23, 2023) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway early Thursday morning, March 23.
The ABC10 and FOX5 News reported a vehicle struck an individual in the northbound side of the freeway near Main Street in Chula Vista. Due to the force from the impact, the pedestrian fell and landed on the ground. Officers later mentioned several other cars run over the body lying in the roadway.

Shortly after 3:04 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the crash site. Responding paramedics performed life-saving efforts to the victim but they sadly succumbed to their injuries and passed away. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver that first hit the pedestrian appeared unharmed after the collision.
Several factors surrounding the unfortunate event have not been discussed thus far. Officials from the California Highway Patrol – San Diego Area Office continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened on Interstate 5 in Chula Vista.
