Motorcyclist Killed in Chula Vista Crash at Telegraph Canyon and Medical Center
CHULA VISTA, CA (February 6, 2022) – A crash killed a motorcyclist at Telegraph Canyon Road and Medical Center Drive in Chula Vista.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 7:20 a.m.
The incident began when the motorcycle rider was going east on Telegraph Canyon Road, approaching Medical Center Drive, in Chula Vista.
At the same time, a sedan made a turn from northbound Medical Center onto westbound Telegraph Canyon. Police said for an unknown reason, the motorcyclist collided with the car in the intersection.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the rider down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to a trauma center, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police did not mention if the motorist stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the bike. The cause of the fatal Chula Vista crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the area of Telegraph Canyon and Medical Center to shut down for a time following the wreck.
