At Least 1 Hospitalized After Collision Near South Avenue Onramp Wednesday
Corning, CA (February 9, 2022) – The California Highway Patrol group reported a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5 Freeway Wednesday morning.
Officials said a solo-vehicle collision took place in the northbound side of the freeway near South Avenue onramp. Per CHP log, emergency crews found at the scene a maroon Ford F150 rolled down the ditch. Rescue teams said they had to pull up the car that drove approximately 40 feet down the roadway.
Shortly after 8:38 a.m., medical personnel arrived at the location. Paramedics rendered aid to all possible victims in the collision. After the medical evaluation, authorities confirmed at least one person sustained injuries as a result of the incident. An ambulance later arrived, then transported the patient to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the car crash remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the accident happened on Interstate 5 in Corning.
