2 Injured in Collision Near Lincoln Avenue
Corona, CA (July 31, 2022) – Two people suffered injuries following a car crash that occurred Friday on the Interstate 91 Freeway, the Daily Bulletin News reported.
Officials said a passenger vehicle collided with a cruiser of the California Highway Patrol. Preliminary investigation revealed the officer pulled their vehicle over on the freeway to assist a tow truck. While in the process of assisting, an oncoming Mazda sedan failed to slow down and crashed into the cruiser of the officer. According to the article published online, the Mazda also hit the tow truck before coming to a stop.
CHP Officer Hurt After Car Crash on 91 Freeway in Corona
Shortly after 11:40 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Medical personnel attended to the CHP officer, and all parties involved in the wreck. According to the article published online, the driver of the sedan sustained serious injuries and was taken to a hospital. Meanwhile, the CHP officer sustained minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. For this reason, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the crash that happened on 91 Freeway in Corona.
