1 Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash Near Corralitos Road and Varni Road
CORRALITOS, CA (February 8, 2022) – At least one was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash near Corralitos Road and Varni Road in Corralitos.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:04 p.m.
CHP said two vehicles collided head-on for an unknown reason. They crashed on Corralitos Road, just east of the intersection with Varni Road.
The incident log described the cars as a black Honda and possibly a green station wagon. Both vehicles obtained major front-end damage upon impact.
2 Cars Collide Head-On
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near Freedom Boulevard. They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the victim to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that a driver did not stop to help and fled the area. Officers added that they located alcohol beverages inside one of the cars involved.
Officers forced a stretch of Corralitos Road to shut down near Varni for more than one hour following the hit-and-run crash. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation.
