At Least 1 Hurt in Collision Near Via Verde Street Wednesday
Covina, CA (February 9, 2022) – One person suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred on Interstate 10, also known as San Bernardino Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported two vehicles collided in the eastbound side of I-10 in the area near Via Verde Street onramp. Officials briefly described the cars involved in the wreck as a Volkswagen Jetta, and a pickup.
Shortly after 2:20 a.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. Responding firefighters immediately worked to put out the fire coming out of at least one vehicle.

The CHP dispatch later confirmed one person sustained major trauma as a result of the wreck. At this time, the name and age of the victim remained undisclosed pending confirmation.
Detectives continue to investigate several unclear factors surrounding the car accident on Interstate 10 in Covina.
