Vehicle Strikes, Kills Pedestrian on San Diego (5) Freeway Sunday
Dana Point, CA (August 29, 2021) – A pedestrian suffered fatal injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on the Interstate 5, also known as San Diego Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol group reported a Ford Explorer struck a male party in the northbound side of I-5. Initial records indicated the incident triggered a multi-vehicle collision in the area near the Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point.
First responders found at the scene a blue Toyota, a white Honda car, a black sedan, a gray Toyota 4Runner; and a red Dodge Charger.

Shortly after 8:05 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the site and rendered aid to all possible victims. The California Highway Patrol dispatch later confirmed one person sadly died as a result of the crash. Authorities continue to withhold the name of the deceased pending confirmation.
Several factors surrounding the catastrophic incident remained unclear. Given that, investigators continue to work at this time to determine the precise cause of the deadly pedestrian accident in Dana Point.
