Daniel Franco, 59, Killed in Irvine Crash on 5 Freeway Near Jamboree
IRVINE, CA (September 24, 2022) – Daniel Franco was killed after a crash on the 5 Freeway near Jamboree Road in Irvine.
The coroner’s office identified the 59-year-old Lake Forest man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Saturday.
The incident happened when Daniel Franco was riding a vehicle which became involved in a collision on the southbound 5 Freeway in Irvine.
Two cars collided for an unknown reason near Jamboree Road. The California Highway Patrol said a big rig approached and then crashed into one of them.
2 Injured in Wreck
The Orange County Register and FOX 11 News wrote that the accident occurred shortly after 4:05 a.m. The semi-truck rolled over and became engulfed in flames in the process.
Daniel Franco died at the scene of the crash. Firefighters arrived and found two people who ended up hurt as a result of the accident.
Paramedics soon rushed both patients to hospitals and listed them in stable condition. The cause of the Irvine crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the southbound side of the 5 Freeway to shut down for several hours near Jamboree following the wreck.
