Daniel Jacks Jr, 45; and Hannah Jacks, 19, Killed in Crash on Gilman Springs
SAN JACINTO, CA (November 14, 2022) – Daniel Jacks Jr and Hannah Jacks were killed after a DUI crash on Gilman Springs Road near San Jacinto.
The coroner’s office identified the two San Jacinto residents as the victims of the fatal wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Daniel Jacks Jr and his daughter, Hannah Jacks, were riding their Honda Insight east on Gilman Springs Road near San Jacinto.
At the same time, a Chevrolet Silverado was going west. The California Highway Patrol said the Chevrolet crossed over the divided highway and into eastbound lane.
Drunk Driver Hits Another Car
In the process, the Silverado slammed head-on into the Honda, east of Bridge Street. The Press Enterprise and KESQ News wrote that the collision occurred on November 13 shortly before 9 p.m.
Both Daniel Jacks, 45; and Hannah Jacks, 19, died at the scene of the crash. Daniel Jacks was a Riverside County sheriff’s correctional deputy.
The two occupants of the pickup truck sustained major injuries as a result of the accident. Paramedics rushed them to a hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, CHP determined that the man driving the Chevrolet was under the influence of alcohol when he hit the victims. They soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI causing injury and other charges.
The crash is still under investigation.
