Pedestrian Darrin Rasmussen, 51, Killed in Red Bluff DUI Crash on Luther Road
RED BLUFF, CA (September 16, 2021) – Darrin Rasmussen was hospitalized after a fatal DUI crash on Luther Road in Red Bluff.
The California Highway Patrol identified the 51-year-old Red Bluff man as one of the two victims in the collision which occurred on Wednesday.
The incident happened when Darrin Rasmussen and another male pedestrian was on Luther Road in Red Bluff. At the same time, a Chevy Silverado was going west.
CHP said the pickup truck then hit the two pedestrians near Airport Boulevard. One of them, a 41-year-old Red Bluff man, died as a result of the collision.
2 Men Hit by Car
Darrin Rasmussen sustained unspecified injuries following the Red Bluff crash. Paramedics rushed him to the Mercy Medical Center for treatment.
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. The Red Bluff Daily News wrote that the accident took place on September 15 at around 10:15 a.m.
Meanwhile, CHP believed that the driver of the Chevy was under the influence when he struck the men. Officers soon arrested and charged with DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
The Red Bluff pedestrian DUI crash is still under investigation.
