David Jones, 52, Killed in San Jose Hit-and-Run Crash on Kooser Road
SAN JOSE, CA (May 6, 2021) – David Jones was killed after a hit-and-run crash on Kooser Road in San Jose.
The Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office identified the 52-year-old San Jose man as the victim of the fatal accident on Tuesday night.
The incident happened on May 4 when David Jones was riding a electric unicycle east on Kooser Road in San Jose. For an unknown reason, he fell off his unicycle.
Driver Hit Unicycle Rider, Flees Scene
San Jose police said a vehicle then struck David Jones in the 1500 block of Kooser. KTVU News and NBC Bay Area wrote that the collision occurred shortly before 10 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded and found the victim left lying on the ground as a result of the accident. They pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the driver involved did not stop to render aid and then fled the area. Authorities are still searching for the motorist.
Officials soon forced Kooser Road to shut down in both directions between Camden Avenue and Ardmore Way following the collision. The fatal San Jose hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
