Intoxicated Driver Fatally Hits Man on Service Road
Modesto, CA (December 14, 2022) – A 41-year-old man died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Service Road near Esmar Road, the ABC10 News reported.
Officials said 41-year-old man was riding his personal mobility device. Per local news source, the pedestrian attempted to cross Service Road Tuesday evening. While in the middle of the roadway, a Toyota crashed into the back of the man riding a mobility device. Preliminary investigation revealed the car was traveling at approximately 65 mph when the collision happened. Due to the force from the impact, the victim sustained life-threatening injuries.

Responding paramedics immediately performed CPR and other life-saving measures to the pedestrian. Sadly, the man succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
According to the article published online, police arrested the driver of the Toyota after the incident. Investigators learned the woman, Kayla Espinoza, was under the influence of drugs at the time of the crash.
Several factors surrounding the catastrophic incident have not been discussed thus far. Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly crash that happened on Service Road in Modesto.
