3 Teenagers Killed in Collision at Carver Road and Briggsmore Avenue Tuesday
Modesto, CA (February 4, 2022) – Police arrested 20-year-old Dearin Koeur in relation with a deadly car accident that occurred in the area of Carver Road and Briggsmore Avenue.
The Modesto Bee News reported Koeur was driving a silver Infiniti traveling in the streets of Modesto. Preliminary investigation revealed a Modesto police officer assigned to the street gang unit approached the Infiniti from behind. The officer apparently wanted to run the registration of the suspicious car.
When the Infiniti approached the intersection of Carver Road and Briggsmore Avenue, Koeur passed a van stopped at the red light. The suspect passed another red light and ended up colliding with a big rig.
The horrible crash took place on February 1, Tuesday.
When emergency crews arrived at the location, they found three occupants in the Infiniti unconscious. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victims but they all sadly died as a result of the crash. Authorities briefly described the fatal victims as a 15-year-old boy; a 17-year-old boy; and a 16-year-old boy.
The driver and another 16-year-old male passenger both escaped death with only minor injuries.
Shortly after the unfortunate event, police arrested Dearin Koeur on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment.
