2 Killed After Tree Hits Vehicle on Highway 199 Thursday
Del Norte, CA (March 29, 2021) – On March 25, Thursday, a tragic car crash occurred on Highway 199, according to Fox26 News.
Earlier reports indicated a 2016 Honda Accord with two occupants was heading south on SR-199. When the vehicle approached the area near Walker Road, a large redwood tree fell crashed down the vehicle.
Officials said the catastrophic incident took place Thursday noon.
Deadly Car Crash in Del Norte County, March 25
Shortly after the accident, rescue teams arrived at the location. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to both the 36-year-old male driver, and the 45-year-old female passenger. Sadly, the two people died at the scene.
Police continue to withhold the identity of the deceased parties pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Additional details on the tragic car crash have not been revealed thus far. Given that, investigators handling the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly collision.
