1 Killed in Delano Crash at Garces Highway and Melcher Road
DELANO, CA (August 6, 2022) – At least one was killed after a car crash at Garces Highway and Melcher Road in Delano.
According to an article published by the 23 ABC News, the tragic accident took place early Saturday. Officers reported the wreck at about 2 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol said two cars collided for an unknown reason in Delano. The vehicles crashed at the intersection of Garces Highway and Melcher Road.
2 Cars Collide
A CHP dispatch added that one car, a Dodge Challenger, caught fire due to the impact of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel then confirmed that one person died as a result of the incident. The name of the deceased party has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Garces and Melcher to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Delano crash is still under investigation.
