Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Delhi Hit-and-Run at Schendel and Stephens
DELHI, CA (April 25, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash seriously injured a pedestrian at Schendel Avenue and Stephens Street in Delhi.
The California Highway Patrol received a call about the accident early Sunday. According to their dispatch, officers reported the incident at around 12:51 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver hit the person at the intersection of Schendel Avenue and Stephens Street in Delhi.
Driver Hits Victim, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene near Highway 99. They found the victim left suffering from major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to the Emanuel Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg. The name of the patient and their condition at this time were not released.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and soon fled the area. Officers forced the intersection to close following the Delhi hit-and-run crash.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
