Bicyclist Injured in Denair Hit-and-Run Crash at Monte Vista and Santa Fe
DENAIR, CA (January 31, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash injured a bicyclist at Monte Vista and Santa Fe avenues in Denair.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the accident on Sunday afternoon. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at bout 4:36 p.m.
The incident happened on January 30 when a vehicle struck the bicyclist for an unknown reason. The driver hit the cyclist at the intersection of East Monte Vista and Santa Fe avenues in Denair.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Denair Elementary Charter Academy. They found the rider hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the victim for the unspecified injuries they sustained in the accident. The name of the wounded patient and their condition at this time were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Monte Vista and Santa Fe avenues to shut down following the collision.
The cause of the Denair hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
