
Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Collision on White Lane
Bakersfield, CA (December 11, 2022) – Derek Lee Ramirez Morgan, a 39-year-old man, suffered fatal injuries following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on White Lane.
The KGET and Taft Midway Driller News reported Morgan was walking home on December 2. In the area near the 3800 block of White Lane, a passing vehicle struck the male pedestrian. The catastrophic incident took place around 9:45 p.m. near South Real Road.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Bakersfield
Approximately three minutes after the collision, medical personnel arrived at the site. Responding medical personnel performed life-saving measures to the victim. Sadly, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries and passed away. The Kern County coroner’s office identified the deceased as Derek Lee Ramirez Morgan, of Taft.
The article published online mentioned the driver fled the scene after hitting the victim. Police described the hit-and-run vehicle as a mid-2010’s gray Subaru WRX. At this time, detectives continue to gather information to locate the suspect.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
