
Rider Ejected from Motorbike, Fatally Struck by Vehicle
Oakley, CA (December 12, 2022) – Derrick Canada, a 62-year-old man, died following a traffic accident that occurred in the area of Laurel and Brown Road.
According to East Bay Times News, Canada was riding a motorcycle traveling in the street of Oakley Friday evening. Earlier reports indicated the rider crashed for an unknown reason when he entered the intersection at Laurel and Brown. Due to the force from the impact, the man was ejected from his motorbike.
The article published online mentioned Canada landed in the traffic lanes. At about the same time, a passing vehicle was not able to stop on time and run over the victim. The catastrophic incident took place around 10:47 p.m.
Deadly Collision at Laurel and Brown Road in Oakley
When medical personnel arrived at the site, they immediately rendered aid to the injured person found lying on the ground. Despite life-saving efforts performed by paramedics, the motorcyclist sadly succumbed to his injuries and passed away. Authorities later identified the deceased as Derrick Canada, of Oakley.
Meanwhile, no immediate information was available on the other driver involved in the horrible crash.
Police shut down the intersection for approximately two hours to give way to the investigation process. At this time, detectives continue to work to determine the precise cause of the deadly accident that happened at Laurel and Brown Road in Oakley.
