Deryl Dewitt, 54, Killed in San Jose Pedestrian Crash on McKee Road
SAN JOSE, CA (December 29, 2021) – Deryl Dewitt was killed after a pedestrian crash on McKee Road in San Jose.
The Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office identified the 54-year-old man as the victim of the collision which took place on last week.
The incident happened on Monday morning when Deryl Dewitt was walking across McKee Road between crosswalks in San Jose. At the same time, a 2014 Honda sedan was going east.
Man Hit by Cars
San Jose police said for an unknown reason, the Honda struck the pedestrian. After some time, a 2013 Mazda sedan approached and ran over him in the process.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived near the Interstate 680 and found the victim lying on the ground. Deryl Dewitt died at the scene of the pedestrian crash.
The Mercury News wrote that the accident occurred on December 20 at about 7 a.m. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the drivers of the two cars involved stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the man.
The cause of the San Jose pedestrian incident is still under investigation.
