Pedestrian Hit and Injured by Vehicle on West Santa Fe Avenue Thursday
Merced, CA (January 7, 2022) – Police arrested 24-year-old Devin Jacob Badillo in relation with a hit-and-run collision that occurred on Santa Fe Avenue.
According to Your Central Valley, Badillo was in a fight with another man Thursday afternoon in Merced. Earlier reports indicated the altercation came to an end when Badillo allegedly intentionally struck the other party. The incident took place in the 800 block of West Santa Fe Avenue.
Authorities said said the suspect fled the scene, and left the victim with moderate injuries. Shortly after 12:30 p.m., medical personnel arrived at the site. Responding paramedics rushed the injured party to the hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Meanwhile, officers eventually identified and located the suspect. Police then arrested Devin Badillo in his home. The Winton resident was booked into Merced County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Further investigation on the case is ongoing.
