Diego Morales, 24, Killed in Fairfield Crash Near Highway 12 and Beck Avenue
FAIRFIELD, CA (April 23, 2021) – Diego Morales was killed after a car crash near Highway 12 and Beck Avenue in Fairfield.
The Solano County Coroner’s Office identified the 24-year-old Vallejo man as the victim of the fatal wreck which occurred on Thursday.
The incident began when Diego Morales was driving a Chevrolet Camaro in the fast lane of eastbound Highway 12, west of Beck Avenue, in Fairfield.
For an unknown reason, a Dodge Ram failed to stop for traffic at Beck Avenue. Its driver, 35-year-old Vallejo resident Michael Solis, slammed into the rear of the Chevrolet.
4 Others Injured in Multi-Car Collision
The California Highway Patrol said the Camaro and the Ram then collided with four other vehicles. The accident happened on April 22 shortly before 5:30 p.m.
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that Diego Morales died as a result of the collision.
The Reporter and The Daily Republic wrote that the other five motorists involved sustained injuries upon impact. Meanwhile, officers forced the roadway to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the Fairfield crash is still under investigation.
