Dominic Anaya Casarez, 23, ID’d as Suspect in Porterville Fatal DUI Hit-and-Run Crash
PORTERVILLE, CA (September 22, 2021) – Authorities detained Dominic Anaya-Casarez after a fatal DUI hit-and-run crash in Porterville.
The California Highway Patrol determined that the 23-year-old Visalia man was under the influence when the wreck took place on Wednesday.
The incident began when Dominic Anaya Casarez was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt north on Road 236 in Porterville. At the same time, a motorcyclist was going south.
He then veered into the left lane and into the path of the 57-year-old man riding a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle. CHP said the Chevrolet then struck the victim.

The FOX 26 News wrote that the accident occurred at around 2:30 a.m., just south of Avenue 112. The rider ended up suffering from serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and rushed him to the Kaweah Delta Medical Center, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the suspect left his car and fled on foot. They found Dominic Anaya Casarez and soon arrested him on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run.
The Porterville crash is still under investigation.
