Donald Roberts, 49, Killed in Fresno Hit-and-Run Crash at Cedar and Bullard
FRESNO, CA (February 4, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash killed Donald Roberts near Cedar and Bullard avenues in Fresno.
Family members identified the 49-year-old Fresno man as the victim of the fatal collision which took place late last month. They set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his funeral expenses.
The incident happened when Donald Roberts got off a bus at the intersection of Cedar and Bullard avenues in Fresno. At the same time, a vehicle was going west on Bullard.
Police said for an unknown reason, the driver then struck the pedestrian who was walking in the crosswalk. The Fresno Bee and ABC 30 News wrote that the accident occurred on January 25 at around 8:30 p.m.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and found Donald Roberts down on the ground. He sustained severe injuries, including a massive head injury, as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon rushed the patient to the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center, where his leg ended up amputated. They put him in the ICU and listed him in critical condition.
The victim died after he was removed from life support. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area.
They soon located and arrested the suspect for hit-and-run. The cause of the Fresno hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
