Douglas Prado, 70, Killed in Ukiah Crash on Highway 101 at Talmage Road
UKIAH, CA (August 16, 2022) – Douglas Prado was killed after a wrong-way crash on Highway 101 and Talmage Road in Ukiah.
The sheriff’s office identified the 70-year-old Willits man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Sunday.
The incident happened when Douglas Prado was driving a blue 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Highway 101 at Talmage Road in Ukiah.
Wrong-Way Driver Hits Motorcyclist
At the same time, a white 2013 Toyota Venza was trying to merge onto the southbound on-ramp from Talmage. The California Highway Patrol said the car then made a turn and drove the wrong way.
In the process, the SUV slammed into the motorcyclist. The Ukiah Daily Journal and KRCRTV News wrote that the accident occurred on August 14 at around 6:30 p.m.
Douglas Prado died as a result of the crash. Meanwhile, the 83-year-old Ukiah man driving the Toyota ended up unharmed following the collision.
The driver of the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the officers. The cause of the Ukiah crash is still under investigation.
