Bicyclist Injured in East Los Angeles Hit-and-Run Crash at Eastern and Olympic
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (November 17, 2021) – A hit-and-run crash injured a bicyclist at Eastern Avenue and Olympic Boulevard in East Los Angeles.
The California Highway Patrol said the incident took place on Wednesday evening. According to their dispatch, officers reported the accident at about 6:10 p.m.
CHP determined that a vehicle struck the bicycle rider in East Los Angeles. The driver hit the bicyclist at the intersection at South Eastern Avenue and East Olympic Boulevard.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the 710 Freeway. They found the victim left wounded as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then provided treatment to the cyclist for the unknown injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid and fled eastbound on Olympic Boulevard. They described the car as a red pickup truck with flames underneath the vehicle.
Officers forced the area of Eastern and Olympic to shut down following the wreck. The East Los Angeles hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
